The newest technology in our office, called the Orthophos S, is able to take 3D scans and create detailed images of a patient’s bone, tooth, nerve, sinus, and airway structures. The best parts about this device are (1) it reveals much more detail about a patient’s dental anatomy compared to a regular X-ray, helping us better diagnose potential issues and plan treatments with more precision, and (2) we can even use the scans to zoom in and focus on specific areas, such as the jaw joint or just a few teeth, enabling us to get to the root of an issue quickly and accurately. This type of scan will eventually become the standard of care in dentistry, but right now, it already is the standard of care in our office for major procedures. Some medical insurances will cover scans like these, which can help someone save on their out-of-pocket costs and leave more dental insurance benefits available for treatment.
Digital Full Facial X-Rays
When planning certain dental procedures, a standard digital X-ray may not be enough to fully understand all the precise, necessary details. Thankfully, Dr. Brett Norda has a state-of-the-art Panorex machine. This technology captures two-dimensional X-rays that show both the upper and lower jaw of the patient, allowing us to more accurately understand orthodontic needs, diagnose periodontal disease and wisdom teeth impaction, detect oral cancer, and more. The amount of radiation involved is also minimized when compared to more traditional techniques, making the process safer overall.
In-Room Digital X-Rays
When assessing the condition of your oral health during a regular check-up, Dr. Brett Noorda will rely on in-room digital X-rays to capture the valuable information he and his team need. Digital X-rays are captured and transferred to our computer system within seconds, no tedious darkroom development or hazardous chemicals required. We can even color-code and magnify them for educational purposes! Like full facial X-rays, this advanced technique also reduces the amount of necessary radiation by up to 90%.
Digital One-Visit Crowns
With one-visit crowns, patients no longer need to worry about messy impressions or frustrating temporary restorations. Instead, our team can design, create, and place a brand-new, perfectly lifelike crown in just one appointment at Dental Excellence. After Dr. Brett Noorda has gathered your impressions digitally, our advanced CEREC technology will get to work, designing and milling a quality replacement right away. Once it’s complete, our team can make any necessary adjustments to ensure an ideal fit. Your satisfaction is always important to us!
Digital dentures offer patients astounding benefits when compared to traditional prosthetics. After taking impressions of your teeth, Dr. Brett Noorda will collect special information that’s then used to compile an accurate digital record. Then, just a couple of weeks later, you’ll be enjoying your brand-new, digitally made dentures! Using a computer helps to eliminate common imperfections regarding alignment and bite, and if you need a second pair or replacement pair, they can be made to the exact same specifications as your digital information shows.
Fully Computerized Office
Here at Dental Excellence, we’ve become fully computerized so that your experiences with our practice are simpler and smoother than ever before. Scheduling is easier with our digital systems, and the number of forms for patients to fill out is simplified and reduced. By eliminating so much paper waste, we can benefit the environment, and your information is both safe and simple and easy to access, including everything from details about any diagnoses to facts concerning insurance.
All too often, dental patients can feel lost or overly confused regarding their own care. Thankfully, our team here in the Las Vegas area can help. With high-resolution, digitally captured photos of your smile and other oral structures, Dr. Brett Noorda can show you exactly what’s going on with your unique level of oral health, pointing out problematic areas and more clearly explaining possible treatment options. More than anything, we want you to be an equal partner in the process of improving your smile’s vitality and beauty.
